Medical Director
Dr. Joy Aghamelu is the founder and Medical Director of Silvercreek Medicare. A CCFP-certified family physician with over 18 years of clinical experience, she earned her MBBS in 2007 and holds the LMCC and CCT in Family Medicine. Dr. Aghamelu is known for her warm, patient-first approach — taking the time to truly listen and build lasting relationships with her patients. She provides comprehensive care across all ages, from newborns to seniors, with particular expertise in chronic disease management, preventive medicine, and women’s health. Her philosophy centers on empowering patients through clear communication and making quality healthcare accessible to the Airdrie community.
Family Physician
Dr. Agbede is an experienced Family Physician with over 19 years in medical practice. He obtained his MBBS in Nigeria before relocating to the United Kingdom, where he has practiced for the past 17 years. He completed his specialist training in General Practice and earned Membership of the Royal College of General Practitioners (MRCGP), going on to gain nearly a decade of dedicated experience as a Family Physician. He also holds Certification with the College of Family Physicians of Canada (CCFP). Dr. Agbede is committed to delivering high-quality, evidence-based, patient-centred care. His extensive international experience has equipped him with strong clinical judgment, cultural competence, and a compassionate approach to supporting individuals and families across all stages of life. He brings a wealth of expertise and a deep commitment to personalized, relationship-focused care. Outside of clinical practice, he enjoys keeping in touch with family and nature, swimming, and reading non-fiction books — continually expanding his knowledge and perspectives.
